On June 26, the faculty meeting of the School of Foreign Languages took place in the Lecture Hall No. 300 of  Young Yongman Building. The meeting conveyed the recent work spirit of the university, reviewed and summarized the central work in this semester, concentrated everyone's efforts and sought common development. All faculty and staff attended the meeting, which was presided over by Mr. Shang Biwu, vice dean of the School of Foreign Languages.

Ren Zhujing, deputy secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, conveyed the spirit of the university's document, stressing that it was necessary to further promote the construction of teachers' ideological politics and ethics, guide the teachers to firmly hold onto one's original mission to educate the people for the Party and for the country, strive to be a good teacher who possessed"ideals, morality, knowledge and a loving heart", and a super teacher. 

Ding Jian, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, summarized the work of the SFL in the spring and summer semester of 2024 from the aspects of party building, faculty construction, disciplinary research construction, and talent cultivation. He emphasized that it was necessary to continue to promote the party discipline learning and education, do a good job in "talent cultivation that involved everyone, occurred during the wholel process and covered all aspects of one's growth", firmly defend the publicity, ideological and cultural positions, strengthen the ideological guidance of teachers and students, promote organized scientific research, strive to create first-class courses and teaching materials, continue to improve the quality of public foreign language teaching, and innovate the mode of professional talents, so as to assist the SFL in the high-quality development of various undertakings. At the same time, Ding Jian mentioned the security matters during the summer holiday of 2024, and he stressed that it was necessary to improve security awareness, build a strong security line, and do a good job of preventing risks, ensuring security and maintaining stability.

Sincere welcome went to the new faculty members. New faculty members, Lang Mengchen and Rong Yicheng, introduced themselves respectively.

The faculty and staff of the School of Foreign Languages adhered to the goal of "cultivating interdisciplinary talents with national feelings, global vision and professional skills, promoting China to better go to the world and the world to better understand China", and they will continue to work pragmatically, climb the peak, and contribute to the development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the society and the country with practical actions.
